“Spinning Plates focuses on spices, stories about spices, culinary traditions and their uses. During the event, we pay tribute to spices, their history and their uses. Spices are an essential part of human history, their journey around the world echoes the journey of humans. This makes them part of collective and personal stories.”
For this special event I produced four soundscapes of different spices. Tumeric, Cinnamon, Chilli and Pepper. I recorded and composed the audio files whilst engaging in deep listening practices.
